38 x 20cm Acrylic painting and mixed media on three deep edged canvasses, framed professionally as a triptych in a deep wooden tray frame.

My paintings usually begin with layers of collage- maps, poems or excerpts from books, as well as gesso, textured painted papers or found materials. Onto this surface layers of paint , texture, and thin glazes of colour are added which partly conceal the collage underneath.

This series of paintings is inspired by walking on the beach at low tide, feeling the elements and the changing experience of the tide revealing light and wet sand. By creating a series the viewer can experience these paintings from different viewpoints and the sides are deliberately painted to continue the connection between canvasses.

I create  layered, textured paintings that evoke a sense of stillness and atmosphere. Using techniques like impasto, glazes, and mixed media, I build depth, using subtle colour palettes which remind me of the light at the edge of the sea. These works invite quiet contemplation, capturing fleeting moments of tranquillity through a tactile surface.
