My paintings usually begin with layers of collage- maps, poems or excerpts from books, as well as sand , gesso, textured papers or found materials. Onto this surface layers of paint , texture, and thin glazes of colour are added which partly conceal the collage underneath. 
 
This semi abstract painting is inspired by the colours the coast can be, when the sky on the horizon is darker than the ocean. 
I create  layered, textured paintings that evoke a sense of stillness and atmosphere. Using techniques like impasto, glazes, and mixed media, I build depth using layered colours which remind me of the light at the edge of the sea. These works invite quiet contemplation, capturing fleeting moments through a tactile surface.
